My name is Edward, and for the past nine years, I’ve called my apartment at the Masons Lodge home. In the summer of 2023, I suffered a heart attack. At the time, I believed I would recover enough to return to work, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to work full-time since. I do my best to work from home, but it hasn’t been enough to keep up with my rent since June 2024.

I applied for Social Security disability, and like millions of others, I’ve been waiting for my benefits to be approved. The wait has been long and stressful, and now I’m facing eviction from the place I’ve built my life. Just yesterday, I was in court and came away with a plan to stay, but I need help covering my back rent to avoid losing my apartment while I wait for my disability payments to come through.

I’m deeply grateful for the friends and family who have kept me afloat since my heart attack. I’m reaching out for support from anyone able to help—your kindness will help me keep a roof over my head and maintain some stability during this difficult time.
