Help Edward Nunoo Honor Family in Ghana

Greetings friends, family, loved ones, and supporters,

My name is Edward Nunoo and I serve as the music director at Skyline Community Church in Oakland, California. I come to you today with a heartfelt request following an unexpected tragedy.

Earlier this month, my sister Christabel and I received news of the sudden passing of a close family member in Ghana. While this loss comes as a complete shock, it has also opened the door to something we never thought possible: the chance to connect with our Ghanaian family and heritage for the very first time.

This trip is a home-going; a final opportunity to honor our loved one’s memory and build connection with relatives we have been separated from all our lives. It will be the first time we stand on Ghanaian soil as a family, and the first time we commune with loved ones who have long been a part of our story from afar.

As working artists and educators, Christabel and I are blessed to be sustained by meaningful work in community. However, the financial burden this unexpected tragedy presents is one we are unable to bear alone. We are humbly requesting support to cover flights, visas, and expenses for a two-week visit, dates pending (approximately $5,000 for both of us).

We are so grateful for the community that continues to uplift us, and for any support you are able to share, whether through contributions or simply by passing this along to someone who may be able to help.

With gratitude,

Edward & Christabel
