Hi, my name is Edward Miguel Auguste, and I’m reaching out with a humble heart and urgent hope.
I’m living with an ultra-rare medical condition called multiple giant retroperitoneal lipomas — which are large, fatty tumors growing deep in my abdomen. In 2024, I had one removed that was the size of a football and weighed nearly 2 kilograms. I thought that would be the end of it.
But in 2025, I received devastating news: two more tumors have grown back, and with the remaining tissue, they are now compressing vital organs — my kidneys, bladder, colon, and ureters. The combined mass is the size of a volleyball, growing inside me.
This condition is so rare that fewer than five cases have ever been documented worldwide. Though technically benign, the tumors are biologically active, extremely painful, and now threatening my life.
❗ Why I Need Help
I’ve already had five abdominal surgeries. Local doctors in Mauritius have advised that another operation here would be too risky. They’ve strongly recommended treatment at a specialized hospital abroad — but I don’t have the financial means to get there.
My condition is rapidly worsening. I can no longer eat solid food without experiencing significant pain. The pain and pressure are constant. I live with the daily fear of a bowel obstruction or kidney damage.
✈️ How Your Support Will Help
With your help, I’m hoping to raise funds to:
• Travel to a hospital abroad with the expertise to handle this rare and complex surgery
• Cover the cost of pre-operative scans, surgery, and hospital stay
• Fund post-operative care and rehabilitation
• Cover basic living expenses during recovery (as I am unable to work)
Every Share, Every Dollar Counts
This condition may be invisible, but the pain is very real. So is my determination to survive. I'm doing all I can to fight, and your support could quite literally save my life.
Even if you can't donate, please consider sharing this page — it helps more than you know.
Thank You from the Bottom of My Heart
Thank you for reading my story, sharing it, or donating if you can. Your kindness and support are deeply appreciated — they bring me closer to the care I urgently need.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Edward Miguel Auguste
