Hi my Name is Beatriz Smith and I am creating a gofounme to help Edward's family pay for medical bills.

Edward Varela is a kind dedicated young gentle soul with high motivation for computer technology.

 

Edward’s health began to take a toll at age 18 when he was diagnosed with Celiac Disease leading him in and out the hospital. During that time, the family was informed that Celiac Disease was not the main cause to his GI issues. Unknown motives have lead him with multiple emergency surgeries within the last year. It is 2021, and as of date the medical team is still not able to find a diagnosis.

 

The last time Edward was admitted again to the hospital was at the beginning of September this year, that stay lasted 26 days. Edward hasn’t been able to tolerate solid foods for months now and is barley able to handle liquids. This has caused malnourishment and excessive weight loss and muscle wasting.

 

Edward is currently enrolled at UIC computer science program however not able to attend due to his health condition and consistently being admitted into the hospital for long periods of time. This has halted his dreams to attend UIC to study computer technology.

 

We are asking for the help from family members and friends who know how the family has struggled through the past year trying to get by with hospital and college expenses.
