Help Educate and Empower Children in Nicaragua
Donation protected
Hi there folks,
It has been a while since I have done a GoFundMe, however I am back again to support a non-profit very close to my heart. Many of you may remember when I first went to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. I was on my way to support a supplemental school while finishing my Master's Degree. This school and the community have become a huge part of my heart over the years and they have gone through many hardships along the way-but this staff and community members have never lost hope. They have showed up day in and day out-throughout natural disasters, shifts in leadership, a global pandemic and inflation rates- and yet they persevere.
They do this with grace, integrity and grit- and they do it all for the children of Nicaragua. I am forever inspired by their dedication and tenacity in remaining steadfast to the needs of their children and community. It truly is awe-inspiring.
Fundacion Proyecto Barrio La Planta has had to shift in order to stay open. We are currently working towards re-opening an international branch to support fundraising efforts of the 100% locally staffed and volunteer efforts to continue the legacy of this school and continuing to impact student learning and educational as well as SEL services.
In the meantime, I am asking for support from my loved ones and the greater community to come together and keep these learning initiatives alive. Our goal of fundraising $10,000 will fund the rest of this school year to the currently enrolled 60 students. Serving as a safe space for learning and love each and every day. These funds go to materials & books for classroom learning, funds for student of the week trips and more.
Fundacion Proyecto Barrio La Planta's Mission is:
To eliminate educational disparities and provide all students with the tools and resources necessary to achieve their full potential. We are committed to ensuring that every child in the community has access to a high-quality education, with a special focus on those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Through our efforts, we strive to bridge the gap and create a level playing field for all students.
Fundacion Proyecto Barrio La Planta's Vision is:
Our vision is to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of every child in our community, preparing them to become responsible and engaged citizens in a rapidly changing world.
Fundacion Proyecto Barrio La Planta's Values are:
Solidarity, Commitment, Unity & Learning
In these scary times, I am holding tightly to the hope I have in our youth (locally and globally) and the students of Fundacion Proyecto Barrio La Planta have shown me repeatedly what they are capable of and ready for. They are hungry to learn and grow, they want to support their community by opening their minds and abilities each day. They are able to do this in a safe and fun environment provided by their loving local teachers who mostly volunteer their time for English, Pre School, Music, Art, Fitness & Chess classes. These educators blow me away and I want to help support their dedication to bring this mission and vision to life. Listen to one of our current student's Mitshell as she shares what FPBP means to her:
Will you join me? Any amount is appreciated to continue serving the students of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua to be the hope and future leaders of tomorrow.
With Gratitude, Hope & Love,
