Help Educate a Refugee Child in Uganda

About 350 refugee children ages 3-12 are enrolled in Best Future School which opened for children February 3, 2020 on a hope and a prayer. They had no funds for teaching supplies or to pay teachers wages below the U.N. "extreme poverty level".

We've got them started, but need help sustaining  the wages and teaching supplies. If we can raise enough, we also wish to serve a mid-morning meal to the hungry children so they can learn.

The Nakivale Refugee Settlement in SW Uganda skyrocketed from about 60,000 people five years ago to about 120,000 today and have completely overrun the U.N. capability to serve them. Most came with nothing and have no means of support, much less pay tuition for their kids to go to school.

The families are primarily female headed, with many males either killed or having abandoned the families. Over 50% of the population are under age 18 and completely dependent.

The deprivation is indescribable, but the stories I heard while there in February are absolutely heartbreaking. The teenage girls and young women are sooooooo vulnerable!

Note: Best Future Center is a IRS approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Prior Lake Rotary Club has sponsored a project so you can be assured the efforts have been vetted.
