We are raising money on behalf of one of our players Eduardo Santos. During our game on August 1st, Eduardo was pitching his 5th inning of relief when he and our second baseman both went for a pop up and collided in the attempt, which lead to Eduardo breaking his femur, ultimately requiring surgery to reset to the bone.
Eduardo grew up playing recreational baseball for the City of Newburgh and was continuing to do so this year with many of his old Little League teammates and family members. Eduardo has always been one of the key members of the Newburgh Devil Rays, loved and respected by his teammates, opponents, and umpires alike. Eduardo is constantly joking with everyone in the game and even continued to do so while laying on field in immense pain waiting for the ambulance to arrive, joking with the ump that he still caught the ball and the out counted.
As a barber and a bouncer, Eduardo will be unable to work until he has ample time to recover, and will eventually need physical therapy to fully regain strength and will need help financially. All money raised will be used to cover medical bills and loss of income while Eduardo recovers. Our team and family appreciates any help possible.
