Known for his vibrant spirit, incredible musical talent, and unwavering love for family, Edmund now needs the same love and support in return as he continues his battle with cancer.

About Edmund: A Life of Music, Family, and Hardwork

Edmund has worked tirelessly for over 30 years as a home remodeler and flooring specialist, installing carpet, vinyl, and tile across South Florida and Delaware. Though established in Miami, he moved his family to Delaware in 1994, continuing to provide for them while pursuing his musical passion.

As the lead singer of the Island Boys, Edmund brought island vibes to venues like the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach, DE, becoming a well-known local entertainer. In 2009, he returned to Miami and later on fate introduced him to his life partner, Faith, in 2013. Together, they built a strong union filled with love in Decatur, GA.

A New Chapter: Compassionate Care in a Time of Need

Sadly, Edmund’s health has declined significantly after being diagnosed with both Prostate Cancer and Multiple Myeloma. Although he has been receiving targeted treatment for his cancer, he has not yet reached remission, and his body remains immunocompromised. Recently, he was hospitalized for Influenza and Pneumonia. Both infections took a major toll on his body, causing him to lose excessive weight and become increasingly weaker.

Edmund has always been a hard worker and always on the go, which is why it has been frustrating for him to realize his body’s new limitations. His last CAT scan showed a major injury to his rotator cuff as a result of him pushing his body too far in pursuit of maintaining his independence. At some point, he needs surgery to repair it, but first, his body must strengthen.

He now requires 24-hour care and supervision to ensure his safety and best maintain his health. Despite a lifetime of hard work and dedication, the monthly Social Security benefits he receives are not nearly enough to cover the round-the-clock care, medical equipment, and home assistance he now depends on. His partner has been doing everything she can to provide and care for him—but it’s become more than one person can bear alone. That’s where Edmund’s devoted daughter, Jamila, has stepped in to become his primary caregiver.
