At the end of 2023, Edilaine’s life changed completely. During her pregnancy with her youngest daughter, she was diagnosed with a rare cancer in the wall of her uterus. Even in what should have been a joyful moment, she had to undergo an intense treatment — and she won. In July 2024, after months of fighting, she received the news everyone had been waiting for: the tumor had shrunk, and she was cancer-free. At the hospital, she rang the bell that symbolizes victory, with her heart full of hope.
But in August 2025, after experiencing severe leg pain and swelling, Edilaine underwent a new MRI scan, which revealed that the cancer had returned and spread throughout her body. Since then, she has resumed chemotherapy, along with other treatments to manage the pain (morphine, oxycodone) and severe side effects.
Edilaine is 40 years old, married to Cristiano, and the mother of two young children: a 5-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl. She works as a house cleaner, but since the cancer returned, she has been unable to continue working. Her husband also had to stop working to care for the children and accompany her during treatment sessions.
The couple is Brazilian and lives in the United States without any family nearby to offer support. The bills keep coming, but their income has disappeared. That’s why we are organizing this campaign — to help them pay their rent, cover basic expenses, and give them a bit of stability during such a difficult time.
Any contribution will make a difference. Whether by donating, sharing this story, or sending messages of support, you will be part of a network of hope for Edilaine and her family.
