Help EDHOCHULI Replace Their Crushed Tour Van

Donation protected
With open and honest hearts, we humbly ask that you read below and you can determine for yourself.
We are asking for your help. Right up front, we would like to acknowledge that the entire enterprise of soliciting funds to help us with our own problems as a band makes us very uncomfortable, and we're very aware of how cringe these can be. So thank you for hearing our plea.

During a recent bout of violent storms in Western Pennsylvania, our beloved tour van (“Big Bad Boy”), which we loved and spent much time occupying, was crushed in half by damaged trees falling from an adjacent lot. In addition, and by dint of some sort of technicality, we have been unable to receive any insurance remuneration in this instance to recoup our losses, or to further fund anything else. While we know that these sorts of accidents occur all the time, it places us in a difficult bind. We are a band that makes 95% or more of our meager income on the road. Now without transport, it's left us with some difficult choices to make– rent a van, buy another van, or rely on our private jet as sole transportation, which we think would probably reflect badly upon us.

Despite our efforts and the incredible support from our friends and fans, we have regrettably not been able to “make a living” as musicians thus far in any truly meaningful way. While renting may work for many bands, our reality is that our overhead vs. income ratio is so tight that renting would return us to the good ol’ days of paying out of pocket to be in a band. At this point in our lives, while also reckoning with the economy’s demands more generally, this seriously threatens not only our ability to tour, but our ability to sustain being a “serious” band at all.
To this point we are seeking donations to help us reach our goal of replacing our van in the interest that we can continue to do what we do best for you, and don't have to make further, more difficult choices

We are more than a little bit embarrassed to approach YOU, the “crowd” as it were, to seek help in solving our own problems. We've been the recipients of so so much kindness over the years, we hate to ask for anything more. Despite this, we feel compelled to ask that if you feel that you are able to contribute, anything would help us greatly. We love you, and we hope you all are taking care of each other. Thank you for your time and attention, and never forget to hang hard.

Sincerely,
Jon, Garett, Dave, Dave, Ben
