Hello, my name is Edgard Santos. I'm reaching out because my dad, Edgardo Santos, is facing an incredibly tough time. Over the past six years, his serious health issues have depleted his finances.

In 2018-2020, our family went through a particularly difficult period. My dad was hospitalized and in rehab for a severe leg infection that resulted in amputation. Since then, he's struggled with physical therapy to learn to walk again with a prosthetic.

Last August, his health took a critical turn, requiring emergency surgery. He was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and underwent multiple surgeries, including procedures for a kidney stone and blockage. To manage his condition, he also needed an ileostomy.

Thankfully, he recovered and returned home in November. However, the financial strain has been overwhelming, with mounting medical bills from his hospital stays. To make matters worse, he lost his job due to his prolonged health issues, leaving him without a steady income.

Now, he may be facing eviction because he's way behind on rent. My dad just got out of rehab and is still recovering. He's a retired nurse who spent years working at the VA hospital, taking care of veterans and their families. He was especially close to those in the ICU, and his compassion and faith earned him a special place in many hearts. People even started calling him the 'unofficial chaplain' because of the way he cared for families during their darkest moments.

I'm trying to raise some money to help my dad get back on his feet. Any help would be amazing. He's always been there for his family and for others, and now it's our turn to be there for him.
