Today was supposed to be a day of celebrating Father’s Day with my dad. Instead, it became one of the hardest days of my life. When I came home to get ready for the evening, I found my house on fire. My first thought wasn’t about my belongings or the damage. It was about my dog. She was trapped inside. I tried everything I could to get to her, even crawling into the house, but despite my efforts, I wasn’t able to save her. Losing her has left a hole in my heart that words can’t describe. The fire department responded quickly, and I will always be grateful for their courage, kindness, and support during such a devastating moment. The fire and smoke have damaged nearly everything in my home. The living room, dining room, personal belongings, furniture, clothes, and many of the things that represented years of memories have been affected.

For those who know me, you know that I am usually the one helping others. As a full-time Realtor here in West Texas, I’ve had the privilege of helping families find a place to call home and walking alongside people during important moments in their lives. I never imagined I would be in a position where I would need to ask for help myself. Right now, I’m facing the challenge of finding temporary housing, replacing basic necessities, paying ongoing bills, and beginning the long process of rebuilding my life after this loss.

More than anything, I want to thank everyone who has called, texted, prayed, shared encouragement, and offered support. Your kindness has reminded me that even in the darkest moments, we don’t walk through life alone. If you feel led to help, any donation—no matter the amount—is deeply appreciated.
