Help Edgar Heal: The Road to Recovery

What Happened
This past Sunday, our lives changed forever when our brother Edgar was involved in a serious car accident while driving home to Pflugerville to visit family. Edgar is a warehouse fabricator managing construction teams across the country and is now fighting a difficult battle at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
Edgar sustained catastrophic injuries including:
- A fracture of his 4th vertebrae
- A broken clavicle
- Multiple broken ribs
- Two broken femurs which required surgery
- Severe lacerations to his scalp and arm
- Traumatic brain injuries of unknown severity
After spending critical days in the ICU, Edgar has been moved to the Step-Down Unit. However, he remains unable to fully communicate, and we're still uncertain about the full extent of his brain injuries. The road ahead will be long, uncertain, and incredibly challenging, but we're determined to be there for him every step of the way.
The Person Edgar Is
Edgar is the definition of selfless - always putting others before himself. As a father to his high school-aged son, a loving partner, brother to his three sisters, uncle to his niece, and a dedicated son, family has always been Edgar's priority.
He's hardworking and dependable, the kind of person who gives without expectation and shows up without being asked. His colleagues at work count on him, and his friends know he's always willing to lend a helping hand. When not working hard to provide for his loved ones, Edgar enjoys staying fit and spending quality time with those he cares about.
Now, it's our turn to show up for Edgar when he needs it most.
The Financial Reality We're Facing
Edgar doesn't have health insurance. Every day in the hospital, every procedure, every medication comes with a cost that will quickly become overwhelming for our family.
Once he's discharged (likely in a few weeks), Edgar will need to transfer to an in-patient rehabilitation facility closer to Pflugerville, costing approximately $3,000 per week. His recovery will take months, possibly longer, during which time he will be unable to work or earn income.
The financial burden extends to:
- Specialized transportation between medical facilities
- Adaptive equipment for mobility
- Changes to make his home accessible
- Ongoing medication and outpatient therapy
- Living expenses while he's unable to work
How You Can Help Our Family
We're asking for your support during this unimaginable time. Your donation, regardless of size, will directly help Edgar focus on what truly matters: healing and recovery.
If you're unable to contribute financially, we ask for your prayers for Edgar's continued recovery and for the medical professionals caring for him. Messages of encouragement, sharing this campaign, or offering support to his family are also deeply appreciated.
From Our Hearts to Yours
"We've been by Edgar's side day and night since the accident, witnessing both his strength and vulnerability. Some days bring small signs of progress that fill us with hope, while others feel overwhelming. The support from friends, family, and even strangers has given us strength during the darkest moments. We know Edgar's recovery will be measured in months and years, not days and weeks. But we also know he is a fighter, and with your support, we believe he can overcome these incredible challenges. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support."
-With gratitude and hope, Edgar's family
We'll post regular updates on Edgar's condition and recovery journey
