When I met Edgar, he was in a new environment at a cat cafe... scared of everyone and everything. I knew immediately that he both trusted and loved me, and he has been attached to me ever since. He had a tough life prior to being rescued by a wonderful organization in Pittsburgh, leading to one of his eyes being removed.
Fast forward three years, and now Edgar faces another challenge. During his annual vet visit, they noticed a very serious heart murmur, one that concerned the veterinarian. They conducted a Pro-BNP test, and determined that Edgar's levels were abnormal, meaning that he likely has heart disease or a dangerous heart condition.
Our next step is taking Edgar to see a cardiologist, who will further diagnose his condition and make recommendations that may include anything from surgery to a change of diet. There is a strong chance that Edgar only has months to a few years to live if heart disease is the cause, which the test numbers strongly suggest according to the veterinarian.
Edgar has been there for me through both the wonderful and tough times in my life: moving cities, the loss of my grandmother, getting my dream job, being promoted, and so much more. I know some may not understand, but Edgar means everything to me. He is not only the best cat ever, he is my best friend.
Please help me in making Edgar's life as fulfilling and comforting in the time he has left as possible. He deserves it more than I can put into words. This GoFundMe is to raise funds for his heart testing, including a echo-cardiogram, treatment at Ohio State University's veterinarian clinic, and partially covering any future surgery that may be necessary. I have money set aside, but I anticipate this to be extremely costly, and I want to give Edgar the best possible chance for success; at the least making sure that he is comfortable and loved in his final time here on earth, however long that may be.
Any money that is not withdrawn and used for his care I will return to donors via GoFundMe's procedure (https://support.gofundme.com/hc/en-us/articles/203604214-Refunding-your-donors). Thank you for considering donating to Edgar's care... you'll never know how much we both love and appreciate you all.
With care,
Edgar and Kyle
