Help Edgar After Firefighting ACL, MCL Injury

Hello!

We’d like to introduce you to Edgar Lopez, one of this year’s rookies on Mesa Hotshots. Edgar is not only a hardworking team player, but his sense of humor and attitude keeps morale high for everyone. Everybody loves a sincere and happy class clown! While responding to the Trout Fire on the Gila National Forest this year, Edgar unfortunately suffered a complete tear to his right ACL and MCL during saw operations while preparing structures for fire. Because of the injury, Edgar’s 2025 fire season with Mesa Hotshots is essentially over. Edgar will still be working full-time at Phoenix Interagency Fire Dispatch Center, however due to the nature and location of the injury, it makes the small things we take for granted, driving to and from from work, the grocery store, etc., very difficult. We are hoping to raise funds to help Edgar get by while he is treating and recovering his injury for the time being! Thank you for considering in helping Edgar get back to hotshot shape!
