Help Eden recover & walk again!

In August 2025 Eden fell 5 stories on to hard concrete, suffering catastrophic injuries. Paramedics did everything they could to keep her stable on the way to hospital where she then underwent back to back surgeries. She had broken bones from the top of her spine down to her ankles, a collapsed lung, two torn arteries, and a ruptured spleen. Doctors decided to keep her in an induced coma and her parents waited anxiously at her bedside. During this time it was unclear if Eden would still ‘be Eden’ when she woke up… miraculously she suffered no brain damage and once she was brought round (1 month later) it was clear she was still her sweet, smart, sincere self.

Eden was in the ICU for more than 2 months. For most of this time she was on a ventilator, which she found extremely stressful, and had to undergo intensive rehabilitation to eventually breathe on her own again. Every day was so painful and difficult but Eden fought hard and took comfort in the love and support of her family. Her injuries were healing but unfortunately it was becoming clear that movement in the lower limbs wasn’t returning.

Before this incident Eden spent much of her time sailing and swimming, she loves the ocean and can’t imagine life away from it. When things feel too dark and difficult Eden tries to imagine life back on the water and keep faith in her recovery. She hopes to be able to start aquatic therapy soon and we are looking for a suitable facility.

The NHS has been a lifesaver but Eden needs specialised spinal rehab and places are limited. We would like to get her in to a private facility and this is very expensive. It’s of the upmost importance that we move quickly, whilst neuroplasticity is still high, to give her the best chance of regaining motor control.

There are many more expenses to cover including a wheelchair, major home renovation/adjustments, and mobility equipment. Once Eden is fit to travel we would like to take her abroad for stem cell treatment, something that offers real hope of a complete recovery.

Eden usually spends Christmas time volunteering: delivering care packages to those in need, cooking and cleaning at charity lunches. This year she finds herself in need of the charity of others and we created this page, hoping we can reach as many people as possible.

It’s a miracle that Eden survived her injuries and we believe the miracles don’t stop there for her. We’re on the cutting edge of new treatments and technology for spinal cord injury; amazing things are happening and we just need the funds to access them.
Please give whatever you can, and share this page as widely as you can.
