My sister Eden and her husband, Justin, made plans to take a dream trip for Eden’s 43rd birthday. What started out as a dream quickly turned into a nightmare as Eden suffered a heart attack in another country that was not equipped to handle her medical condition. They had to rely on the medical staff on the cruise ship to get her stable enough to travel to another country to get her to a hospital. Once they got to Cozumel, they quickly realized that they still were not able to handle her condition to the extent that was needed.

The unfortunate part of the whole situation was that neither the ship nor the hospital took their insurance. They quickly ran up hospital bills and travel expenses that they were unable to cover. What was supposed to be their dream vacation turned into a financial nightmare that has added many layers of added stress to their little family. Eden stays home and raises both of the boys so they are living on only one income. Things can be difficult without the added stress of the new bills.
