Help Eden Raise Funds for Top Surgery!

Hi there!

My name's Eden (they/them), and top surgery has been a long-term goal of mine. I have known that I wanted it for about 5-6 years now, but it was not a possibility when I was under 18 due to Queensland's laws concerning such a medical procedure for minors (aka, unattainable without both parents signing off - which was not a reality for me).

I had gone through the public system originally, and after multiple sessions with social workers and psychiatrists after over two years of waiting, I had to turn to private health to ensure I could alleviate my dysphoria ASAP. Last year I was finally able to start testosterone, and June marked my one year anniversary of being on this life-saving health care. Whilst testosterone is not that expensive for me to take, I do not have the disposable income for top surgery. I'm a full time student, so I can only work casually. This means financially this surgery is not a reality for me. Discussions with my GP and other transmascs who have received top surgery have given me an estimated cost of $10 000, and under the advice of my GP I am waiting until I have more funds before I continue the process.

Top surgery would greatly alleviate my dysphoria, and reduce my discomfort both socially and physically - from struggling to pass, to binding with a binder and trans tape.

Getting this surgery would seriously improve my quality of life, greatly alleviating my dysphoria and the subsequent issues I face from such. Any donation is appreciated, and this would not be something I asked for if I felt able to attain it myself. I completely understand if others are in my same financial situation, even sharing my gofundme with others is greatly appreciated.
