Hi everyone, I am dedicating this gofundme to an incredible person and my dear long-time friend, Eden, who has been suffering for almost a year from a rare disease called Exocrine Pancreatic Insuffiency (EPI).

Eden is a kind and sensitive soul from Seattle, WA who loves to create, paint, dance, and help everyone around her. She helped me at some of my lowest points and is an incredibly bright and influential person. Unfortunately, her symptoms have been worsening this past year, preventing her from working and meeting most of her basic needs.

For those who are unfamiliar with EPI, it occurs when your pancreas doesn’t produce enough digestive enzymes. Untreated EPI leads to severe malnutrition, fat-soluble vitamin deficiencies (A, D, E, & K), protein-calorie malnourishment, and electrolyte imbalances which can cause organ failure in the end stages impacting kidneys, heart, bones and immune system ultimately reducing life expectancies.

Eden is already experiencing the worst of these symptoms and is in extreme pain every single day. Her pancreas has almost stopped completely working and absorbing the necessary nutrients her body needs when she eats. She also has extreme fatigue and dizziness, worsening tendinitis and muscle pains, and severe weight loss. She went from a healthy 130lbs to an alarming 100lbs as her weight still continues to drop. Someone who I always considered extremely hard-working and independent now can not work or stand for long periods of time without exhaustion. It's gotten so bad to the point where she can only shower using a chair, & has to use heating pads on rotation when she's awake, leaving irreversible heat scarring damage to her stomach.

With all of that said, there is a medicine she needs that can help save her and get her back on her feet. And because the US medical/pharmaceutical industry is so unforgiving, the costs for this medicine are obviously not going to be cheap. The price of this medication is expected to be $6,500.

Eden is not someone who likes to ask anyone for help. I will also not sit here and allow my friend to slowly die, which is why I made this and am asking you for a donation today if you are able. Imagine if it was your friend/family/partner. Wouldn't you want to do the same?
