Hello! My name is Elliot, and my very dear friend Eden has an appointment scheduled for December 5th of this year to get gender-affirming top surgery!

He’s been given a $2,561 pre-pay estimate for the surgery and will have to be out of work for 6-8 weeks afterwards. Since they won’t be able to earn any income while they’re recovering, he’ll need about the same to cover all of his bills, so we’re setting the overall goal at $5,000.

“Being able to have this procedure would be life-changing for me and is something I’ve hoped to get for a very long time.

I’ve been on HRT for almost 3 years now, and it has truly helped me to feel like myself, improving my mental health greatly. The change from waking up every single day, hating my body because it didn’t feel like mine, was definitely taking a toll on me mentally. I felt like I was pretending to be someone I wasn’t, and everything just felt wrong, awkward, and uncomfortable. Testosterone obviously hasn’t solved all my problems, but every day since my first shot, I’ve been loving myself more and more. It’s helped me feel comfortable to explore how I dress and present myself to the world, and everything feels much more genuine. When it comes down to it, I feel like transitioning has allowed me to love myself more than I ever could have imagined before I started. My chest is one of the few things left that causes me bad dysphoria, and I feel like I’ll be able to continue to rediscover myself after top surgery.

I’m really excited to be able to go outside and feel the sun on my chest for the first time. I think it’s going to feel so free, and it’s something I’ve thought about a lot. To be outside in nature, feeling the sun, existing as myself once I take the next step in my transition.”
