In January, our lives changed forever. Our 16-year-old son, Eddy, was doing something selfless, pushing his mother’s stalled vehicle to safety on the side of the road when he was suddenly rear-ended by another car. He was airlifted to the hospital with severe trauma to his legs. The only way to save his life was to amputate both legs.

While this has been an unimaginable challenge, we are incredibly grateful that Eddy is still with us. He is mobile, active, and determined to live life to the fullest. But his journey is far from over. Eddy faces a long road ahead of rehabilitation, therapy, and medical care.

Eddy is a smart, strong, and determined teenager who loves cars, football, and spending time with his little brother. Every day, he pushes forward with courage and hope.
