Please help our teammate get through this difficult season of life.

Eddie is on the men’s track and field team at Ohio State. On February 20th 2025 Eddie received a call that his mother had passed away unexpectedly. Six days later, Eddie‘s father passed away from an unknown illness, but by Eddie’s account, he died of a broken heart.

Eddie is now thousands of miles away from Nigeria trying to figure out how to bury his parents. As the oldest of three children, a lot of the customary planning details and finances have fallen on him. He is managing things as well as anyone could imagine, but we as his teammates want to step-up and help him where we can.

He is a great teammate, good student and friend and is fulfilling his dream of becoming a buckeye, but unfortunately with managing the unthinkable in his first year away from home he needs our added support.

Eddie would probably reject any kind of help. He is the kind of person who doesn’t want to be a bother and is appreciative of the opportunity to even be at Ohio State, so he doesn’t want to ask for more. But, as teammates we want to band together to help him.

Because Eddie is an international student, there are rules and limitations on the type and amount of aid that he can receive. Under the circumstances we are only asking for the amount Eddie is trying to gather in order to help bury his parents.
