My name is Eddie, and in November of 2024 I went in to the hospital for a simple gallbladder removal, after the surgery, complications arose and I was admitted to the hospital and spent 42 days there before being diagnosed with chronic liver disease. The experience was overwhelming, and the recovery has been slow and painful. Since my discharge in January, I’ve been dealing with severe pain in my legs, thighs, hips, and shoulders. The doctors are still working to figure out the cause, and the uncertainty has made daily life a real challenge.

During this time, I lost my job and fell behind on all my monthly expenses. I’ve since found a new job that works around my many doctor appointments and gives me more time with my ten year old son, but it’s not enough to catch up on everything. My car can’t pass emissions and needs past due maintenance and repairs, making it even harder to get to work and doctors appointments. On top of all this, I’m raising my 10-year-old son, with 50/50 custody. Not being able to do simple things with him—like kicking a soccer ball or throwing a football—has been heartbreaking. I want to provide for him and keep our lives as normal as possible, but right now, I’m struggling physically to do the things he loves.

I’m asking for help to cover medical bills, necessities and car repairs so I can focus on my health and being there for my son. My hope is to regain the function in my legs and shoulders, return to the active life I had before, and continue supporting my son.
