My husband Eddie was in a very, very bad accident on Sunday, Sept. 1st around 3:30 pm. He rolled his truck multiple times and at some point was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance and remained in Trauma ICU, intubated and heavily sedated in critical condition for 2 days until they moved him to regular ICU. The doctors said people ejected from the vehicle have a 50% chance of surviving. They said he would be there for a while, but once they found out he did not have any medical insurance, they discharged him on Thursday, Sept. 5th around 12 pm. As of today, Sept. 6th, he is pretty much in the same condition he was in days ago. He has short-term memory loss, doesn't remember anything that happened, and only remembers what's going on in the day he is currently in. The next day, he won't remember anything from the previous day. He has a fractured skull, a broken clavicle, several staples and stitches in his head, several broken bones in his face, and a severe avulsion injury on the top of his ankle where they attempted to reattach it to his leg. We won't know for sure until it heals if he is going to need a skin graft. He can't walk on his own as he is not able to put any pressure on his right leg. He has multiple follow-up appointments this coming week as well as weeks and months to come, and we are going to have to pay out of pocket for everything.
At this time, I am the only one working and I can't afford all of this on my own with him now out of work for however long he will have to be out of work. We also have a young daughter that I am having to solely take care of without his help because he physically cannot at the moment. So, any help would be so very greatly appreciated!!
