Our dear friend Eddie Causey, only 34 years old, was admitted to the hospital on the evening of Tuesday, March 3rd after becoming critically ill with severe Flu B, bacterial pneumonia, and a high fever. His condition quickly worsened and he had to be placed on a ventilator, heavily sedated, and put on paralytic medication so his body could fight the infections. During this time, Eddie has also required kidney dialysis and even a blood transfusion as his doctors continue doing everything they can to help him recover.

It has now been over two weeks, and Eddie remains in critical care. Doctors are working every day to try to reduce the paralytic medication and sedation, but his body is still not tolerating it yet.

3/17/26- Ed underwent an ECMO procedure and we’re so grateful to say it we went well. This is a big step in helping support his heart and lungs while his body continues to fight.

Those who know Eddie know what an incredible person he is — a loyal friend, loving son, proud brother, and fun loving uncle. Since 2023, he has also been a dedicated public works employee for the Borough of Westville, always willing to lend a helping hand to his community, family, & friends.

Between the extensive hospital care, his insurance premium of $350 per month, ongoing medical treatments, rehabilitation, physical therapy, and time away from work, the financial burden is quickly becoming overwhelming for the family.
