My name is Erika Brown Richardson, and food has always been more than a business to me — it’s my passion and my way of bringing people together.

After relocating from Chicago to Houston, I had to completely rebuild my life from the ground up. After years of being a business owner in Chicago, I struggled finding stable work and decided to create my own opportunity. That’s when Glizzy’s was born — a small Chicago-style hot dog stand built with just two tables, two pots, and determination.

Although I faced setbacks and was temporarily shut down, I never gave up on my dream. With years of experience as a restaurant server and manager, I continued pushing forward and eventually expanded my vision into E. Dachon’s — a fusion of Chicago flavors and Houston soul food.

Today, E. Dachon’s serves favorites like Chicago-style hot dogs, mac and cheese, collard greens, fried chicken, catfish, stuffed salmon, salads, and more — all made with love and inspired by both cities I now call home.

After leasing a restaurant space, I unexpectedly had to replace and repair much of the kitchen equipment on my own. Thanks to previous support, I’ve already been able to make important upgrades and begin building my dream. Now, I’m asking for help with the next phase: remodeling the space and repairing major HVAC and electrical issues so I can improve service, expand the menu, and create a better dining experience for my customers.
