Help Ed and Valerie Through This Tough Time

Hello everyone. For those of you that don't know me, I'm Jennifer. The oldest daughter of Ed and Valerie. Me and my sisters, Lauren and Courtney have decided to start this GoFundMe in hopes of helping our mother while our father is recovering in the hospital.

3 weeks ago Ed fell very ill and what we thought could just be the flu or virus has turned into a nightmare. For not only Ed but our family as well. Ed got a very serious infection which unfortunately had traveled up to his heart and into his blood. His hospital stay started out at Milford Hospital which he was then transferred to Boston Medical Center where he remains. Ed has been intubated twice, has had multiple procedures, including removing his pacemaker, and unfortunately is now battling Pneumonia. Although he makes very small strides daily we still have quite a ways to go. He was recently moved out of the CCU and put in the Surgical Step Down Unit. Now he needs to fight to get stronger and will have to go to rehab once he is well enough. He is a fighter, that we all know.

Now that Ed is out of work, my mother is missing an income. She recently retired back in November and her income has drastically changed. We will be filling out paperwork for PFMLA but again that takes time and is only a percentage. Unfortunately, bills do not stop because someone is sick. We have no idea the medical bills that are going to roll in when all is settled down. We need our mother focusing on our father not worrying about their mortgage or bills. She travels every day from Attleboro to Boston to be with her husband. That is also an added expense. We all know Val, she worries, and stresses. We also need her taking care of herself so she can be strong for him. Please continue to pray for our Dad. We need him home with us.
