Hello, my name is Ray, and my partner Ed has started his third go of chemotherapy for reoccurring testicular cancer. The treatment requires three rounds of hospitalization with rest periods in between requiring a caregiver with him 24/7 in case of emergencies, and is expected to last about ~12 weeks. Unfortunately, my job has refused to allow me to work from home during his treatment, and have forced me into taking 12 weeks of unpaid FMLA/CFRA leave instead.

As Ed and I already live borderline paycheck to paycheck, losing three months of my pay is going to be a huge financial hit for us. While we have some emergency savings left to cover bills, we will need to use all of them to cover my leave, putting us in a very financially precarious place. We had also been hoping to use those savings to move into a new apartment much more suited for our disability needs than our current place after his treatment, as our current apartment/building has multiple issues that have been slowly worsening our health. Ultimately, this gofundme is intended to get us through this period without debt, and possibly some money left to put towards moving afterwards.

Anything is appreciated, whether you donate or just spread the word! We are so incredibly grateful for all the support our friends and communities have given us since his initial diagnosis and treatment in 2017, and again when the reoccurrence was discovered in 2025. Thank you!
