Help Ecto move to California!

Hi, most of you know me by Ecto! I’m a transmasc artist living in Kentucky, and recently have been trying to get top surgery for a while. Unfortunately, my insurance recently denied my request for surgery, deeming it “not a medical necessity” and I’m back at square one.

 

That said, this isn’t a fund for top surgery, but rather to move to California, where there are more resources and surgery would be more accessible to me. But, at this point, I’m more concerned with my mental health, and would like to move closer to my partner and to a place that is much more accepting of me and my identity. I’m currently still deadnamed at work, and constantly misgendered on a day-to-day basis—and I’m not in a safe enough environment to correct people when it happens. This has taken more of a toll on my mental health than my chest dysphoria ever has, it actually just worsens it. I’ve spent nearly the last month in San Fransisco, and have never felt more accepted and loved. I was truly happy and could comfortably exist as myself.

 

This might seem sudden or short notice, but since coming back to Kentucky, my mental health has been on a rapid decline. I also have an interview lined up for a good job coming up, and would love to be able to accept it if offered! Funds to get there are my main concern right now, that includes fixing my car enough to drive cross-country.

 

Any help would be so appreciated—even just sharing this fundraiser.
