Help Eckerd College Students Attend Model UN Conference

Hi! I am the president of Model United Nations at Eckerd College, and I am in my last year. My Vice President (Kasey) and I are taking 12 students to a Model United Nations conference at Stanford University in California.

Unfortunately, we were unable to attend a conference this fall semester due to Hurricane Helene and Milton. We are back on campus and ready to get our club up and running. We are so excited to take our students to this conference. In the past, we have had really small numbers (primarily due to COVID), and so it was very exciting to see how many students were interested in Model UN this year.

We always try to cover costs for flights, hotels, and registration so as not to place a burden on the students who want to come to the conference. We pay for our business attire, food, gas, etc., but this year, we do not have it in the budget to cover lodging and flights for all students. We are working with our student government to ask for ICV and other funding, but we are still coming up short on paying for the trip. We are hoping we can raise the money so that we can reimburse students for the flights we just bought and purchase the hotel before the conference in February.
