Help Echo Get a Pacemaker.

Echo is a typical Beagle. She’s affectionate, curious, busy, a great problem solver and a creator!
In her early years she was used as a breeding dog and happily for all of us, she came to join our family 4 years ago. She became best mates with Charlie who is a Sydney Silky cross who has similar energy levels and interests. They both share their days with some local dogs who come for daycare.
During a routine visit to the vet, Echo was diagnosed with a severe heart condition which could cause her to drop dead suddenly. The electrical system of her heart is not firing properly and causes her to faint due to interruption of oxygen to her brain. As a result, I am constantly looking for her around the house and garden.
This condition will not respond to medication. Her only option is to have a pacemaker surgically implanted which will allow her to live a normal life and have a normal lifespan. She is currently 7 years old and could live until 12 or more years with this operation.
My first Beagle, a boy called Cooper died suddenly 6 years ago. He had complex epilepsy which did not respond to medication. He died in my arms after 5 severe seizures in the space of 30 minutes. I was not able to save Cooper but there is a chance to save Echo’s life.
The veterinary bill for the pacemaker is $10,000 and so I am reaching out to the wider community of dog lovers for assistance.
If you can help Echo, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
