UPDATE:
After Ebony’s bilateral mastectomy, she experienced two serious infections due to leaks in the tissue expanders. Since then, she has undergone an additional surgery to remove the tissue expander and treat the infections.
As a result, Ebony’s doctors must start her reconstruction process over. She now will have to undergo additional surgeries that were not accounted for in her original or revised recovery plan. Ebony’s doctors also have recommended that she extend her leave from work for the second time as the additional surgeries will add several more months to her recovery time. However, despite these setbacks, Ebony has remained hopeful and in good spirits.

Ebony’s family and I would like to thank our amazing community for joining us on this journey. Your financial and emotional support has helped lessen the stress and lighten the load for Ebony thus far. We sincerely appreciate ALL of you from the bottom of our hearts!
Please see below for more details on Ebony’s journey to keep fighting cancer.
My name is Gia. My god-sister, Ebony, was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October 2022. She is 38 years old and the hardworking, single mother of my beautiful 2-year-old goddaughter.
Ebony's doctors have recommended that she take a temporary leave from her full-time position. Since her lumpectomy, her doctors have determined that a bilateral mastectomy with the possibility of chemo is also necessary. While Ebony was prepared to be off temporarily for her initial surgery, these additional diagnoses will require more extensive surgeries, as well as extending her leave from work. Ebony’s family and I are asking our community to help financially support and emotionally uplift Ebony as she approaches her surgeries and the possibility of chemo in the months ahead.
Donated funds will help provide for medical costs not covered by her insurance (i.e. appointments, procedures, and medications), transportation to and from chemotherapy and other medical appointments, therapy fees, daycare, and living expenses while she is unable to work full-time.
Please donate to help this amazing woman.
