Dear all,
Here is my story with my request to support a school project in Kenya:
I, Felix Ballestrem (son of Bella and Stoffi), am currently volunteering through “workaway” in a school in Mackinnon Road, a small village in a very underprivileged area about 2 hours away from Mombasa. The school is a wonderful project that was initiated by Cosmos to help the children in this poor area. The school started only a few years ago with only 3 kids but has grown now to have almost 200 pupils. Cosmos has built this school mostly from his own spare funds and from “workaway” visitors like myself who pay 7 Dollars per day for housing and food. Besides giving the children the education, the school provides each child with a warm meal. And if you want to learn a bit more about the school please take a look at the attached link:

Today I am writing to you asking for your help in funding to support the school. I can ensure you that the donations for this fantastic project will go directly to where it’s needed. Some items that are in continuous need but lack frequently are paper and pens, pencils, sharpeners, rubbers and chalk. Also the chalkboards here are extremely old and “eat up” chalk, therefore better chalkboards would be of great help. A long-term aim is to expand the school to accommodate more students and to build windows and doors as well as plaster the remaining classrooms. I will stay here until mid February and try to help out teaching but the greatest achievement for me would be to see the money raised invested by myself and Cosmos exactly into those much-needed basic resources and building improvements. I would therefore be so grateful if you could help me this Christmas to support this so inspirational project which was built by Cosmos, a local man whose aim is to support people in need.
