Help Easton’s mama get to Times Square

Donation protected
Hi everyone I am Easton Holden’s mother Wendy Holden it’s going on 4 years since losing Easton at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital (10/18/19). It was my second attempt at submitting Easton for the Times Square Video presentation that is done in NYC every year during the time of the annual Buddy Walk. I received an email on 8/1/23 stating that Easton had been one of the children selected to be shown on the Jumbotron on September 9th. He will be 1 of about 500 others who were selected. I was immediately overjoyed of this news and yet sad knowing that he was selected but that he  would not be here to be apart of this monumental event. As his mother I am wanting so much to be in NYC/Times Square to witness this once in a lifetime event. The video presentation begins at 9:30am Eastern Time on 9/9/23. I originally set up a Custom Ink T-shirt Fundraiser but with the time constraint I knew for me to get a minimum of 50 to go to print would be difficult by 8/20/23. I am hoping to gather enough to help with travel costs as I am hoping that taking an Amtrak from Pittsburgh to NYC round trip estimated cost $350 and to stay several days in NYC estimated cost with food $2,500 attending and being apart of the events for the Down Syndrome community leading up to the Times Square video presentation and Buddy Walk on Saturday September 9th.

Losing Easton turned my world upside down and as his mother I am so very honored that he will be one of many beautiful children both here earth side and in heaven to be apart of this special event. Helping raise awareness for such a wonderful group. I want Easton to be remembered for his strength and will to fight against the horrible disease that he was born with a congenital heart defect namely HLHS. I continue even after all the time that has passed to continue and share memories and my continued journey with Easton in spirit on his Facebook page “Easton’s Eternal Journey” I want to always be an advocate for my sons memory he was and will always be a beautiful soul who had so much to still offer. He taught me and still teaches me so much he lived a short 5 years, but they were some of the best years of my life.

I still continue to seek my purpose after he has been gone and even prior to Easton’s passing we lost his father Greg Holden II the previous year November 2018 unexpectedly. It has been such a hard time for so many and I know in my personal journey going from losing 2 of the most important people in my life and then into an international pandemic it has still be so hard to fully recover. I have been trying to make it on my own with the love and support of my parents, but life will never be the same. This has been a very touching moment for me to receive the news that he was selected and I want more than anything to be in the present moment to see it live. I appreciate any help even if to simply share with others.
