Help Ease the Stress of a Long Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Liana and I am Noah's Aunt. Most of you have already read that he was involved in a bad motorcycle accident on October 20. He sustained several injuries including multiple fractures of his ribs, spine, shoulder, a collapsed lung and a traumatic brain injury. Due to the many prayers sent by all my family and friends, physically he has made great improvements. However, his neurological recovery has been very trying with many ups and downs. His brain is still swollen and the doctors say that it may be months before they are able to re-attach the left side of his skull. The insurance company has dictated his release date despite the appeals made by his doctors. He is being sent home with the left side of his skull missing. This means that he will need to wear a protective helmet anytime he gets up to walk and he needs 24 hour supervision. He will not have a home attendant assigned. His parents will need to be his home caretakers and they will need to bring him to outpatient neurological rehabilitation treatment several times per week. While Noah has physically made great improvements, the brain is not functioning "normally". There are things he can not remember, he can be combative and difficult to handle and he doesn't understand the severity of his condition. The doctors say the brain can take one to two years to fully recover. There are some legal avenues that they may need to pursue as well to ensure his proper care. His parents are very private and do not like to ask for help but I see that this situation has them extremely stressed both emotionally and financially. No matter how financially conservative you are, especially in these times, it is very difficult to be prepared for an emergency situation such as this one. Many of you have reached out to me asking how you can help. Besides continued prayers for Noah's complete recovery and the strength and patience for his parents, you can also donate financially to help alleviate some of the stress. The necessary 24 hour supervision and the need for transportation to and from his many weekly appointments has caused a loss of income and incurred additional legal fees necessary to obtain the proper care. If you are unable to donate financially, that is completely fine. Please just continue to pray.
