On May 17th 2024 my dad Gene Rusnak was heading home, from a shift he had picked up to cover lost wages in the house due to my mom having lost her previous position, on his motorcycle when he was struck by another driver. Currently we only have one working car as income has recently prevented repairs to my former vehicle, leaving us with only the manual and the motorcycle. My mother received a call from one of the first responders letting us know that dad was on his way via ambulance to the hospital with a broken leg, that she needed to come while he was not critical he was injured and likely would need to be in the hospital overnight or longer. At 10pm mom let me know that surgery was imminent as there was worry about compartment syndrome, a surgery of this type will have a significant recovery time and impact on our family finances. I am posting this crowdfunding campaign to hopefully help ease the pressure on my parents who have been there to help so many others before.
