Katie and Jackie Pope are some of the most loving, FUN, and dedicated friends and family members. They are ALWAYS helping others out and show up for their people. Now they need our help!
Less than a year ago, Katie received the news that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Over the last several months, she’s gone through countless visits, treatments, and ultimately a double mastectomy. It was just at the end of February that Katie rang the bell on her last treatment. She continues to heal and navigate the next steps in her journey.
No less than a couple of weeks later, Jackie also received the news that she, too, has breast cancer. This news comes after months of Jackie being the sole provider for the family and primary caregiver for Katie. While there is a lot still unfolding, Jackie will also need to undergo surgery to have a double mastectomy and receive treatment.
The costs, stress, and impact endured from one diagnosis, let alone two within a year, is almost beyond comprehension.
An awful hand has been dealt to these two amazing humans and couple. Of course, given who they both are, they have been facing it head-on and with humor when they can. But continuing to support their son, paying for ongoing medical expenses, covering costs of living while being out of work, having physically demanding jobs, and facing insurance that doesn’t cover all that it should, has created enormous emotional and financial stress.
We know so many people have been helping the Pope family and are seeking ways to provide additional assistance. We set up this page to offer a new way to support them and spread the word to others who might be able to help.
Anything you can give to offset some of their medical expenses and costs of living to provide some reprieve during this time would be greatly appreciated.
Help if you can and keep the good vibes coming! ♡
