On Thursday 12 February 2026, we lost Jon suddenly and without warning. While out on a walk with his wife and fur-babies, Jon suffered a fatal cardiac arrest and never came home. He was taken from us far too soon, and the shock of his passing has left everyone who loved him completely devastated.
Jon's family are now faced with the unimaginable — not only the grief of losing him, but the very real and immediate financial weight that comes with an unexpected loss. When someone passes without warning, there is no time to prepare. Funeral arrangements, memorial services, flights, accommodation and all that comes with saying a proper goodbye carry costs that no grieving family should have to face alone — especially in their darkest moments.
Jon meant so much to so many of us. He was a husband, son, brother, and a close friend to many. His family poured everything into loving him, and right now they need us to pour that love back.
If you knew Jon, if he made you laugh with his incredibly dark and witty humour, if he showed up for you, if he was simply someone you crossed paths with and felt better for it — this is your chance to show up for the people who loved him most.
Every contribution, no matter the size, lifts a little of that weight off his family's shoulders so they can focus on what matters most right now — grieving, remembering, and honouring Jon the way he deserves.
A note to all contributors: We are keeping this fundraiser private and discreet. Jon's family are not yet aware of this effort. Our intention is to present them with what we have raised as a collective act of love from everyone whose life Jon touched. Please help us honour that by keeping this between us until we are ready to present it to them. Thank you for being part of this.
Current proceeding are under way in Manila, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday 14 March from 2:30 - 5pm at Glen Waverley Uniting Church.
