I wanted to say thank you to all of you who donated to Peggy. I can tell you , that she saw all the support and it eased her worries. You all helped make Peggy's transition a little easier. Peggy passed away July 2nd. She was surrounded by people who love her dearly. She left this world knowing whole heartedly she was fiercely loved. A tremendous void has been left in our hearts with her absence. We love you always and forever Peggy.
I have turned off accepting donations. Thank you all ❤️
Update 6/28/23
Peggy has had some good days, some okay days and still some really bad days. On her good days she jokes around, little laughs here and there. Her bad days are hard, we get our hopes up for our friend and her pain gets a hold of her and crushes her. It hurts all of our hearts to see her like this. Peggy now has a palliative care team to help manage her pain. They are able to comfort her when the pain gets too intense. Which is a blessing. Tomorrow Peggy has a big day, a rough day. She will be getting a PEG tube placed and getting a line placed into her arm. This all will help in the long run. On her good days Peggy can roll onto her left side. I was the there when the Neurologist came in one morning and she moved her pointer finger on her left hand (which brought a smile to the MD because that was a first she had seen. Peggy can also wiggle her toes on her left foot. We all are so grateful for these little victories. Peggy has gotten a new bed, unfortunately she has developed ulcers from laying in the bed. It happens. No matter how many times the nurses turn her, it still can happen. She has a "2nd skin" on the wounds protecting them from getting worse.
The most impressive part of all this is Peggy's will to fight. It is her humor. She amazes us everyday. She makes us laugh with her comments. She still has that flame in her soul.
We are so grateful for her good days. Thank you to all her family, friends and coworkers. Peggy needs lots of prayers for her big day tomorrow.
Update 6/24/23
I spoke with Peggy today and got her permission to share in more detail what is going on. Last week Peggy suffered a massive stroke. Her coworkers went to her house when she didn't show up for work or answer any calls. They found her on the floor. She had been trying to call for help through Siri but her voice was greatly affected by the stroke. We are so grateful for her loving coworkers. She has lost function of her left side and can not feel anything. Her long term memory is still good, she has difficulty remembering short term. We don't know if it is medication causing that or the stroke. She is being fed through an NG tube. Peggy still has her sense of humor which makes us so happy. She will eventually move to a rehab facility. If she doesn't get her strength back they will remove the NG tube and place a PEG tube. They also found issues with her heart and because she is not a candidate for heart surgery they have had to go a different route. And remember, on top of this awful stroke, Peggy is still fighting cancer.
Peggy has a wonderful supportive group of friends who love her dearly. We have been with her in the hospital as her patient advocate, caretakers and just being there because we love her. She can use her phone. Texting is challenging, talking is easier, but be patient. She is allowed visitors but 2 at a time. This page was created to support Peggy , so she does not have to worry about paying bills. Her account has been set up and she can withdrawl when needed. If you are able to help financially, it will be such a blessing for her. It would take a huge burden off her mind.
Thank you to all who have sent prayers, well wishes and love. Our dear friend has a long hard battle ahead and we will be there.
Hi! My name is Robyn. Peggy is my sister from another Mr., she is my chosen family and the loving Aunt to our 2 girls. Those who know Peggy, love her. She has the most kindest and gentle soul. She loves to serves others. She gives her heart and love away freely and generously. Peggy has had the biggest black cloud over her for years now. And through it all she remains the sunshine in our lives. Peggy has recently had a large set back. She will triumph as always, I fully believe in her will and determination. In the mean time, let us come together and help her by lifting the financial burden that has come into her life. All we want Peggy to focus on is healing, resting and getting stronger. We do not want her focus to be any financial worry. Thank you for any donation. Every bit helps and every bit matterz. Please feel free to share uplifting pictures and stories. When Peggy gets better she can see all the love.
