Help Ease the Burden of Coco's Loss

Coco came into my life at six weeks old. She was not planned in the slightest. It was like I woke up and suddenly had something that needed me for survival. The two of us learned how to figure things out together and I eventually began to depend on her more than she probably depended on me. She helped me learn how to be an adult and put someone else's well-being before my own. Having gotten her at 23, I sit on the cusp of turning 40 not even knowing how to be an adult on my own now. Coco was 100% my spirit animal.

Losing her has been the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. She was taken so abruptly that I still find myself searching for her at home or expecting a call from the groomer to come pick her up. Even after 17 years, I don't feel like I had long enough with her. Even though her kidneys have been an issue since about 2017, they finally reached a point where there was no turning back. Partial to complete blockages in both ureters could not be helped without seriously invasive surgery that she possibly wouldn't even survive. After finding this information out, Coco left this world four days later. It happened too fast and I will never get over our last day together.

Unfortunately, with the unexpected comes the added stress of $8000 in vet bills. I would have spent more if they could have saved her, but it was just her time. This amount of debt adds to the darkness I face while trying to reacclimate to a life without her. Also, being a teacher doesn't help support the unexpected and unplanned. I am facing multiple challenges on my own and ask anyone for any support that they can offer.
