Some situations rip straight through the illusion that life is predictable or fair. This is one of them.
My best friend Steven and his family are living through every husband and father’s nightmare.
In October, his wife was diagnosed with cancer and what began as devastating news quickly became a brutal fight for survival. She endured chemotherapy and the physical and emotional toll that comes with it, holding onto hope that the treatments would work and that more time still remained ahead for their family.
But despite the fight, the cancer has spread.
Now, after months of exhausting treatments and unimaginable physical as well as emotional pain, she has been placed into hospice care.
At the center of this tragedy is their young daughter and my Goddaughter Savannah, who is facing the heartbreaking reality of losing her mother far too soon.
No family should have to carry this kind of grief while also drowning under the weight of medical bills, end-of-life expenses, funeral costs and the financial uncertainty that follows a loss this profound.
I am creating this fundraiser to help ease at least part of that burden.
Every donation will go directly toward:
• Medical and hospice-related expenses
• Funeral and memorial costs
• Financial support for Savannah’s future and immediate needs during this devastating transition
• Giving this family breathing room to focus on what truly matters right now: love, time, and being together
If you know this family, then you already know the kind of people they are: loving, hardworking, generous, and the kind who would quietly help others without ever asking for anything in return.
Now they need help.
If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, it would mean more than words can express. And if you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page so it can reach others willing to help.
Most people go through life assuming there will always be more time. More birthdays. More dinners together. More ordinary moments that never feel important until they are suddenly running out.
Right now, this family is trying to hold onto every remaining moment they can.
Please help us surround them with support, compassion, and relief during extremely difficult time.
Anything and everything helps. Thank you
