Hi my name is Jolene and I am reaching out to you on behalf of my big brother Dave and his family. I thought long and hard about should I or shouldn't I with this fundraiser. I knew I had to. My big brother is everything to me. He is the one that held my hand through life.  You know the kind that fills the BIG Brother title well.  Always quick to laugh at you and with you.  Constant pranks and jokes like "Mom said not to tell you that you're adopted"  and "oh ya you dont remember when we found you behind the dumpster at Churchs Chicken"... Taught me how to do my first spit ball with a straw,  use being a girl to my advantage during cops and robbers in the dirt hills. How to ride my first skateboard and then quickly there after how to dodge getting hit by a car at the end of the alley way. (Sorry Ma)  We fought hard but we loved each other harder.  Heres the thing, my brother is in the hospital.  He was born with what is called a bicuspid valve. (An aortic valve with two flaps instead of three)  On top of having this valve it turns out he has a blood infection.  The blood infection has built up on the outside of said bicuspid valve and the valve itself is deteriorating which in turn has left him admitted in hospital on IV therapy awaiting open heart surgery.  We have all been in hard times with the pandemic and things in our daily lives and my brother and his wife are not people to ask for help.  They have worked hard from a young age together to get to where they are now.  My brother went back to school and became a CSO.  He took on the task of being the go to man on site for 100's of workers and he is damn good at what he does. It is hard for him to be off, his company wishes he could be back like yesterday. He keeps these workers going home to their families at the end of each shift. He will be off work for a long while and I feel like I need to do something.  Life as he knew it will never be the same again.  He will never stop being the patient from here on out, his diet and routine will have to change, his regular monthly blood work for life let alone the cracking of the rib cage to have the surgery and to heal from that.  I would like to raise enough to give Dave and his wife the peace of mind on where the next mortgage payment or two is coming from.  I cant do a t shirt fundraiser right now with my own personal healing going on (maybe in a few months) but I can do this.  Please share and donate if you can.  $5 goes along way.
