On October 4th, Scott Hayes was out doing one of his favorite activities, mountain biking. He was up near Snow Basin and ended up crashing his bike. The friends/co-workers he was riding with were able to get him stabilized and resuscitated. EMTs were able to get him down the mountain where he was airlifted to the hospital. Scott is in very critical condition with fractures to his skull and spine. He has a very long road ahead!
Anyone who knows Scott is a friend of his. He is one of the kindest people I know. He is heavily involved with South Weber Days and will do anything for anyone.
Please support Amy and Scott as medical bills are going to be high and Amy doesn’t need to worry about money when she needs to worry about Scott.
From Zach, Scott’s son on instagram:
On Friday, he was biking with two of his work friends at Snowbasin when he was involved in a serious mountain biking accident. His friends heard the crash and immediately rushed to him, finding him unresponsive. They were able to stabilize him while waiting for Life Flight to pick him up. Due to the complexity of where he crashed, they had to slowly walk him out of the trail to the helicopter, where he was flown to the hospital. As a result of the crash, he has suffered multiple brain injuries, several face/ skull/back fractures, broken bones and ribs, and numerous other injuries.
He has been so strong, and we are praying that he will be able to overcome these many obstacles. We haven't been able to respond to so many amazing family and friends but hope to continue providing updates on his status. We are praying for a miracle for our dad and ask for your prayers at this time.
