Help Ease Richard's Path to Recovery Together
Donation protected
Update: March 18, 2025
We are asking for monetary donations and all the prayers and healing vibes the world can send. Please know the Twedts continue to feel blessed and humbled by your generosity and support over the past 5 months!! The support is appreciated more than words can express.
Richard has been receiving chemo treatments since October of 2024 in hopes of shrinking the cancer. The cancer has not shrunk but is stabilized so a new chemo treatment was recently started. Richard & Jo Ann have prayerfully decided to take a "Journey For Life". They've booked their flights to San Diego where they will be picked up and transported to Tijuana, Mexico. Richard & Jo Ann will spend 3 weeks at the Hope4Cancer Institute which offers a Holistic/Immunotherapy option for cancer patients. Hope4Cancer has treated many patients with Stage 4 cancer and successfully diagnosed those patients Cancer Free! During their stay, Richard will be in treatment 8 hours a day. Insurance will not cover the $50,000 up front cost of the holistic treatments or transportation costs to the facility. The Twedts are living on prayers and have tremendous faith that Hope4Cancer is the "Leap of Faith" they are meant to follow for Richard's recovery. On March 26, the Gastronomy tubes and Jejunum will be removed in Sioux Falls. On March 31, Richard and Jo Ann will begin their "Journey for Life" and return on April 22.
One of my dearest friends has been diagnosed with cancer and has not been able to work the past two months. Richard & Jo Ann were in the midst of remodeling their home when he became sick. Through faith, family & friends we’re all praying for an amazing outcome. In the meantime, I have set up a GoFundMe page in hopes of helping offset some of the bills that continue to roll in. In Richard’s wife’s words:
“Life can sure be a fragile thing and change in the blink of an eye. Our life changed 8 weeks ago when Richard , my rock , my best friend, my soul mate out of the blue got sick then sicker. After 2 ER visits and doctors appointments to see what was going the 3rd visit to the ER in Sioux Falls landed him in the Hospital at Prairie Center Cancer Institute. He has been diagnosed with Adenocarsonoma. The tumor was causing blockage of the small intestine. He will have bypass surgery and tube's and port in for Chemo on Tuesday then treatment to follow after the healing of surgery is done. A real speed bump in the road for sure. Don't need any boohooing. Only positive vibes and prayers for a successful surgery and effective treatments. Remember to hug your loved ones, tell them you love them everyday and live life! ❤️”
