As many of you may know, our sister Patty has been diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma which is an extremely rare and terminal cancer. Her husband Dave and children, Katie and Karolyn, are beyond devastated. Over the past several months they have been providing round the clock care, while managing their own emotions. We don’t know how long the road is ahead, but we all continue to pray for Patty and for her family.
Patty is an amazing mother, wife, sister, friend and cousin. Her big beautiful smile has been lighting up rooms forever. Her constant upbeat and always optimistic way has been Patty’s selfless formula in life to make those around her feel so special, important and loved. She is still a kid at heart and always looking to make life for others a better, more fun and creative place. Just as quick with her drawings as with a needle and thread, making costumes, Patty’s creativity has amazed others beyond imagination. Patty’s innate talent in the arts is incredible and appreciated. She is the consummate cheerleader, who makes a difference in so many kids, co-workers and friends lives. She has spent many years at the East Islip school district as a para-professional for special needs kids, a job that is not a job to Patty. She brings her kind and loving heart daily into school and summer camp and so much of her joyful self to the kids, making a true positive difference for them. Patty, aka “Miss Patty”, still a kid at heart, is the fastest “shoelace tie-er”, a title no one can beat!
In anticipation of the struggles they will likely face, we would like to ask family and friends to band together to ease some of the financial burdens. If you feel like you can offer any amount to help lighten the load for this loving family, please feel free to contribute to this go fund me. We know that Patty and her family would be humbled by your generosity. Whether you are able to contribute or not, we ask that you please keep Patty and her family in your thoughts and prayers. We sincerely thank you for your loving support.
