My fiancé, Patryk, unexpectedly started having chest pains and shortness of breath Monday night. He was admitted to the hospital and has been a patient there since. He is still having difficulty breathing and remains on oxygen. He has undergone a chest x-ray, CT scan, and echocardiogram which has shown his heart appears to be functioning normally, but it does not explain his consistent heart rate of 120+. He has received steroids and several rounds of antibiotics.
At this point, the doctors are thinking it is something viral, but are still unsure so they have consulted with an infectious disease specialist to take a look at his case.
Due to his unstable vitals, Patryk will have a longer than expected hospital stay and a long recovery ahead of him. To add to that, we are right in the midst of moving apartments and I am about to begin my Student Teaching which will take me out of work for this upcoming semester. We are planning to celebrate our wedding day next April (God willing).
I would like to ask for your Thoughts and Prayers and for any amount you can afford to give. We are going to have an extremely difficult time dealing with these medical expenses as Patryk is the main breadwinner for our family.
Thank you in advance!
6/22/24 - Doctors are still unsure as to what his cause his rapid heart rate. Patryk is still in the hospital on oxygen, antibiotics, and the doctors have now added steroids.
6/25/25 - We are still unsure as to what is causing Patryk’s symptoms. We have opted to get a second opinion to hopefully get answers that the hospital did not provide.
7/2/24 - Patryk has been admitted in the hospital again. He will be getting a chest tube to drain his fluid in his lungs. The doctors are taking more blood to run additional tests as well.
