On 11/19 mom began to notice her stomach was in immense pain. After waiting 3 hours with me in the ED, she was diagnosed with a major perforation to her colon and was rushed into emergency surgery.

The surgeons removed 11 inches of colon to save her life and had to clean her abdomen of intestinal contents. She was hours from death.

She had second surgery 11/21 to remove more and place an ostomy. This will be with her for the next four months.

Sadly, due to her prior condition of AML, she was not eligible for short term disability.

At 66 she still works full time to support herself.

Please consider helping to ease her stress and worry…when she was being prepped for surgery all she could think about was how she would pay her bills
