Hello!
We are the family of Maya, an 8-month-old girl, who was diagnosed with Anterior Displacement of the Anus / Stenosis of the Anus after months and months of pain while trying to go to the bathroom. We continually asked our pediatric doctor why she was in horrendous pain when trying to go to the bathroom. We were told we could only focus on the butt rash she had obtained from the frequent diaper changes, and that she seemed fine other than that.
After our pediatrician told us nothing after multiple trips, we decided to see a gastrointestinal. Within 30 seconds of seeing Maya, we were told the diagnosis. We were then referred to a pediatric surgeon for further evaluation.
We met with the doctor and discussed the next steps. When talking with the doctor, this is usually caught by the doctors at the hospital on the day of delivery or even by a pediatrician in the monthly checkups - but ours failed us.
Maya has already had to endure months of agony when trying to go to the bathroom, ultrasounds, multiple MRIs, and we haven't even gotten to the surgery.
We are to have the amount we are financially responsible for after insurance. This strain on the family has already drained savings, HSA, and every spot any loose change has fallen and we haven't even touched the price for surgery.
Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated!
With much love,
