Help Ease Lily's Family's Unexpected Costs
Donation protected
Our beloved Lily passed away two weeks ago. Lily was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism a little over two years ago and was regulated with medication. Unfortunately, the disease became too aggressive, and the medication was no longer effective as the disease began to progress causing many complications.
On Friday, May 3rd, Lily collapsed at home and was rushed to the Hoboken Vet Hospital. There, she was put on an IV and underwent numerous tests. The results revealed that her thyroid levels, blood pressure, and other vital indicators were dangerously abnormal, so she had to stay overnight at the hospital.
Lily returned home on Saturday but mostly slept and did not eat or drink. By Sunday afternoon, I noticed she seemed to be passing out, so I hurried her back to the hospital. There, I was informed that her lips had turned purple and blue, indicating she was suffocating and that it was likely her last day. The vet told us Lily’s health was declining and despite all her best efforts to prolong Lily’s life there was no way to tell if the fluids in her lungs and stomach would come back along with all the other complications, things were not looking good for her. Faced with the heart-wrenching decision, we chose to ensure Lily’s passing was peaceful and free from distress, surrounded by her family.
The costs for all the tests, IV treatments, hospital stay, and her private cremation have been overwhelming. We did not expect Lily to decline so quickly and had little time to prepare financially. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial burden of her medical expenses and allow us to focus on celebrating her beautiful life.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this difficult time.
