Leeroy is a current manager at Benson Memorial Center, and has been working at SCU for 24 years through Bon Appetit. He’s always had a great connection to students, supporting faculty, staff, and students with dedication and pride. Over the years, he has consistently worked hard to support himself and his family and has been a reliable presence in the university community.

Leeroy is incredibly strong, he beat kidney cancer years ago, and now lives with only one partially functioning kidney. To help his remaining kidney drain properly, he must use a urinary collection bag every day. Because he has only one kidney, he faces ongoing health challenges and is at a higher risk for serious infections. These infections are often related to chronic urinary tract complications and the use of medical devices, which can allow bacteria to reach the kidney. While he has dealt with infections almost every year, his condition has worsened, and this year he has already experienced two serious infections.

Despite these challenges, he continues to work because he does not have retirement funds to rely on and must continue to support himself and his family. Any financial support would help ease the burden of his medical expenses.
